The Rotary Youth Exchange Program sends thousands of high school
students to travel to other parts of the world to experience life in a foreign country. Outbound students attend a full high school academic year
and live with 1- 3 host families. As part of the exchange process, Rotary
clubs welcome foreign exchange students to experience American life
with local families.

Rotary District 5060 exchanges with 20 countries including Peru,
Argentina, Brazil, Japan, Thailand, Italy, Mexico, Norway, Sweden,
Finland, Denmark, Germany, Austria, Belgium, and India.

Students will become completely immersed in the language, culture
and traditions of their host country. One of Rotary’s mantras is “It’s
not wrong or right, it’s just different"

The end goal of Rotary Youth Exchange is to promote peace,
understanding and friendship around the world. Rotary Youth Exchange
is known as one of the best (and safest) exchange programs in the world.
Rotary International District 5060 invites YOU to become a Rotary Youth        Exchange student.  We are looking for students who would like to make a difference in the world.  Youth Exchange students will spend a year living
in a foreign country, attending school and learning a new language and culture.

HOW TO APPLY
YOUTH EXCHANGE 2024-25

We are now in the process of selecting students for exchanges in the academic year of 2024-2025.  The window for applications will be closing on Oct 16th, 2023.   Once this closes applicants will have to set their sites on the next exchange year: 2025-2026.  Email the Youth Exchange Officer Jheri Ketcham for information or questions about the program - ketch5am@aol.com.

Student applicants for 2024-25 must be between the ages of 14-17 at the time they leave for their exchange (approximately August 15, 2024).  Age restrictions vary by country. Efforts are made to send students to their preferred country. Student fees, Rotary’s contribution and available financial assistance will be covered at the Youth Exchange Information Night to be held on October 11, 2023.

To apply students will have to complete an extensive District application and be interviewed on the club and district level. Final selection for the program will be made mid December 2023.  Students will leave for their exchange in August 2024 and return mid to late June 2025.
