Do you need coffee to get going in the morning and a glass of wine to come down from your day? Do you wake exhausted from a full night of sleep or do you have difficulty sleeping? Do you feel bloated or just can not lose weight? Or do you just wonder what the perfect diet is?
Katie Thorner, Registered Dietitian, will be sharing her nutrition journey and how food and other lifestyle factors can play a major role in how we enjoy life. Food is more than fuel but also the information that tells our bodies how they should react. Are you going to be inflamed with joint pain and brain fog? Do you have an immune system on high alert with increased allergies or autoimmune conditions? Do you have digestive issue? Food is medicine.
Katie’s own nutrition journey has had many dark days. Her experiences have evolved her thoughts about food and what it can really do. For instance, it has kept her running marathons when she was told to stop and it has had significant impact on her son with autism.
Katie Thorner graduated from the University of Idaho with a degree in Food and Nutrition. She has been a Registered Dietitian for 20 years and has spent the last 5 years in private practice. Katie is a triathlete and 2x Ironman finisher. Food is her passion and not just a job. In practice, her favorite client is the one that the doctor has said that there is nothing medically wrong despite the fact the person feels terrible. She believes food is the magic sauce!
